We’re still highlighting the most-watched shows from our 2020 program, with female creators at the helm! The most-viewed series of our first cycle were animations that shined for their originality, creativity, and capacity to resonate with audiences of all ages.
During the 80 weeks of the cycle, families got together to watch animated series that mix adventure with education, such as Nanoaventuras (Cábala Producciones) Hostal Morrison (Pájaro), and the most successful with international spectators, Cuenta la Leyenda (Yestay), which we are sharing again today.
Created and produced by Teresa Salinas, along with her collaborator Eduardo Salinas, Cuenta la Leyenda (roughly “legend has it”) was a hit with audiences for installing a variety of folk tales in the memory of new generations, rescuing and keeping Latin American oral storytelling heritage alive.
The episode La Noche de San Juan (“Saint John’s Eve”) was seen in more than 27 countries, while Las Tres Pascualas in more than 25, surpassing 121,000 views in just one week! Directed by Jorge Olguín (Eternal Blood) and Julio Pot (Who Are You?), the series explores the worldview of the Mapuche people, legends from the Diaguita community, and urban myths from throughout the region.
If you didn’t have the opportunity to watch it before or you would simply like to see it again, this is your chance.
