Tuesdays of Chilean Series and Thursdays of Chilean Cinema are back at CinemaChile!

Tuesdays of Chilean Series and Thursdays of Chilean Cinema are back at CinemaChile!

The new cycle of Tuesdays of Series and Thursdays of Cinema is upon us and comes with a ton of surprises. While we were arranging the details of a new edition, we couldn’t stand to wait and wanted to highlight the talented women in our first cycle. Today it’s time for some of the most outstanding series of 2020, and we’re kicking off with Psicóticas Inseguras.

But before we begin with a new cycle of national series and cinema for the world, we have to remember how this programming was born. 2020 was a tough year. Covid-19 distanced us from our loved ones and separated us from our routine, which is why it was important to find a place to connect via online platforms.

Thus CinemaChile created Tuesdays of Chilean Series and Thursdays of Chilean Cinema, which sought to provide refreshment amid the distance and the yearning for reencounter. In a year marked by the impossibility of seeing one another, audiovisual content was a bridge that allowed audiences all over the world to connect with national series and films. A mirror, company, and also a bridge with audiences, colleagues, and friends from around the globe.

For 80 weeks, we presented more than 30 series, ranging from educational to comedic, idiosyncratic and irreverent, children’s content and historical dramas. Production companies like Parox, Zumbástico, Wood, Villano, Glacier, Tres Tercios, and Mi Chica Producciones shared their award-winning series content with the world, and more than 214,000 people enjoyed the diversity and talent of our creators.

Now, with new lockdowns all over the world, and while we head forth into a new stage of the pandemic, we want to once again share one of the series that had the most viewers this year, to revisit the growing bond with our global audiences, which will soon have more new surprises!

Female creators dominate the series!

Psicóticas Inseguras is returning to CinemaChile, this time with the recognition of being one of the most-viewed series during our Tuesdays of Series, with 1,300 plays in just one week. A big hit!

This millennial, feminist, transgressive series was created by Pamela Bravo and Javiera Pinto, a duo of creators who have demonstrated that they can reach a broad audience through new forms of production and distribution that reside outside established industry canons, forging a space that puts friendship between women at the center of the narrative.

Work-related frustrations, sexual insecurities, and the search for stability and meaning intersect in Psicóticas Inseguras, validating and giving life to the conflicts of the millennial generation. With a tone that wanders between humor, absurdity, and sadness, this series takes on the never-ending spiral of adulthood and portrays friendships as true life partnerships and sustenance to be able to deal with this period in life. Hit play on the second and fifth episodes of the second season here!
