SANFIC Industria, the platform for Latin American fiction and documentary projects presented by the CorpArtes Foundation and produced by Storyboard Media, is open for submissions for its tenth edition, which will take place from October 27 to November 5.
This new open call is focused on Ibero-American feature film projects and television series from countries in the Southern Cone, in development or pre-production stage. In addition, and now that the health crisis has been improving in Chile, the market event will bet on an anniversary edition in hybrid format, hoping that conditions will allow some face-to-face meetings.
Submissions are currently open for the following sections:
- Work in Progress Iberoamericano
The WIP Iberoamericano will be 100% online and will focus on film projects that have already been filmed and are in post-production stage.
Out of the total number of applicants, up to 10 fiction and/or documentary features will be selected, which will then be seen by a jury composed of 3 outstanding professionals from the international audiovisual sector, who will choose the winning films to participate in SANFIC Industria Goes to Cannes 2022.
- Santiago LAB Iberoamericano
This training and development laboratory is dedicated to feature film projects -in development stage (fiction or documentary) that have audiovisual material or teaser- and that belong to Ibero-American countries.
Up to 30 projects will be selected, whose directors and producers shall receive personalized and group training by great experts, to then pitch before international guests. This instance will also be developed in a 100% virtual manner.
- SANFIC-Mórbido LAB
Training and development laboratory exclusively dedicated to feature film projects -in development stage, of terror/horror genre and part of Latin American countries. Up to 6 projects will be selected, whose directors and producers shall receive personalized and group training by Pablo Guisa Koestinger founder and CEO of Grupo Mórbido, to then do pitch the project before international guests. This instance will also be developed online.
- Series Lab Ficción Conosur
In this second version of this laboratory, up to 6 Chilean and/or Southern Cone projects will be part of the selection, that is, coming from Argentina, Uruguay and/or Paraguay. The producers of the chosen projects shall receive personalized and group training on strategies, new audiences and pitching, which will be led by international experts.
It should be noted that this edition will be developed in a hybrid manner (face-to-face and online), as conditions, protocols and restrictions allow.
- SANFIC Net: “Mesas de negocios para largometrajes y series iberoamericanas”
A completely virtual space that will allow those selected to participate in one to one business meetings to present their projects to festival programmers, fund representatives, streaming platforms, producers, buyers and international sales agents.
Out of the total number of applicants, up to 60 projects will be selected from fiction and documentary feature films (finished and with territories to be exploited, in a first-cut stage) and fiction and non-fiction series projects (in development stage), whose productions are Chilean or Ibero-American.
All the developing projects selected in SANTIAGO LAB, SERIES LAB and WORK IN PROGRESS IBEROAMERICANO may participate directly in SANFIC NET.
- Encuentro Productoras NET
After a high participation in March, this section that will be completely online, will again put the lights on the Ibero-American producers who want to connect and reflect with other professionals of the region, thus promoting collaborations and strengthening connections.
It will be a networking meeting event created exclusively for executive producers and will have speed dating days organized based on the interests and topics of each participant.
