CHILEAN TELEVISION SERIES IN THE OFFICIAL SELECTION OF CHAPTER ONE
Chapter ONE ("Capitulo Uno") is a space that projects the first episodes of unpublished series and second seasons of Ibero-American productions. The two Chilean series in the selection represent South America, participating in this prestigious section along with Spain, Mexico and Portugal.
No nos quieren ver, directed by Guillermo Helo (Niñas araña, 2017) and produced by Altirosapiens, is inspired by the thousands of cases of abuse and deaths that have come into the public view since 2016 in Chile, in different residences of the National Service for Minors (SENAME).
Injustice, the violation of the rights of children in a vulnerable social position, and a system in collapse are the difficult themes addressed by this series, starring a cast with strong female roles: Tamara Acosta, Paulina Urrutia, Francisca Lewin, Amparo Noguera and Paulina García. It will be broadcast on Megamedia Chile and is distributed internationally by MGE; and it was financed through public funds of CNTV.
Los prisioneros, directed by Colombian director Carlos Moreno (Lavaperros, 2020) and the Peruvian director Salvador del Solar (Magallanes, 2015) and produced by PAROX, will also be screened at Chapter ONE.
The series looks at the history of the Chilean rock band Los Prisioneros, with the distinction of being the first production to have the rights to the songs of the trio and to use their name. Aron Hernández, Andrew Bargsted, and Diego Madrigal give life to the iconic band, acting in the roles of Jorge González, Claudio Narea, and Miguel Tapia, respectively.
In its eight episodes, the series shows how the band was persecuted and censored by the military dictatorship, an intense period that takes them through their time in Chile, Peru and Colombia during one of the most turbulent times in Latin America.
Written by Dominga Sotomayor (Tarde para morir joven, 2018), Enrique Videla (Nadie sabe que estoy aqui, 2020), Luis Barrales (El Príncipe, 2019), and Paula del Fierro (Bombal, 2011), also features performances by Mariana Di Girólamo, Geraldine Neary, Samuel Buzeta, Amparo Noguera and Gastón Pauls, among others.
