In this edition of Tuesday of Chilean Series we present Por la razón y la ciencia (For reason and science), a series conducted by Jani Dueñas that addresses social, economic, environmental and labor challenges in an audacious and entertaining way. The dynamic program looks to democratize scientific outreach knowledge, addressing topics such as astronomy, super bacteria, oceans, genetics, and tidal energy, among other enriching themes. Composed of illustrative animations, interviews with academics and experts, and footage that captures the surprise of the universe we inhabit, each episode is an invitation to be amazed by the unknown.
Produced by Tres tercios and VTR Foundation, this series was shown by the national channel Chilevisión in 2018. The lead of comedian Jani Dueñas guides audiences on a journey that transforms the ordinary into extraordinary, and today we invite you to embark on two episodes of the second season. The first is "Cities of the Future", which explores how humans inhabit different world capitals, focusing on urban planning and growth. The second is "Inequality", which looks at the issue of social justice from various dimensions: territorial, social, gender, economic, racial, among many others.
Tres Tercios, the production company behind Por la razón y la ciencia, is based in Chile since 2011, with the mission of creating original content for various platforms of the audiovisual industry. Their works are full of innovation and creativity, always looking for the best way to tell stories or generate a different audiovisual experience for the audience. This is why it develops authorial projects where the director can explore and find his own voice, and is composed by Jeremy Hatcher, Simón Vargas, Pablo Arias and Allan Bortnic.
Among their most outstanding projects are the short films Apnea (San Sebastián Film Festival 2012), El bienestar de Julio (Sanfic 2012), Herman' (Best Short Film at Lakino 2015), the medium-length film Las ruinas del oro with singer Camila Moreno, and the feature film Sobre los muertos, which won the Best Director Award at SANFIC 2018.
