CorpArtes Foundation announces that submissions for the 16th edition of SANFIC are now open

CorpArtes Foundation announces that submissions for the 16th edition of SANFIC are now open

The invitation is to apply to the three competitions of the festival -International, Chilean Cinema and Local Talent Short Film-, and to its non-competitive sections. Submissions will be open from March 24 to May 11. Regulations are available at Sanfic.com

Santiago International Film Festival (SANFIC), organized by CorpArtes Foundation and produced by Storyboard Media, has reached national and international relevance throughout its 15 editions, by gathering more than 273 thousand people and the exhibiting more than 1500 films. The 16th edition of the festival will take place between August 16 and 23 of 2020. Its bases are now available, and submissions are open at FESTHOME: The Online Film Festival Submission Center. The call is to directors and producers, national and international, to submit their full-length films and short films, which must have been completed after February 1, 2019.

“In these moments in which the audiovisual industry and culture face a significant decrease in their activities due to COVID-19 contingency, we make a special call to directors and producers to submit their films to our festival. Through this call, as CorpArtes Foundation we want to encourage cinema industry and make excellent films visible to a diverse audience, to bring audiovisual language closer to more children, youth and adults,” says Francisca Florenzano, Executive Director of CorpArtes Foundation.

The call for submissions is now open to apply to the following SANFIC competitions: International Competition (for first to fifth full-length films, national and international, fiction as well as documentaries), Chilean Cinema Competition (for full-length fiction films and documentaries of Chilean production) and Local Talent Short Film Competition (for Chilean produced or co-produced short films. The works may be fiction, documentary and/or animation, with a 30 minutes maximum duration). The films that are presented for competition may also be selected in the non-competitive sections of the festival.

“Being aware of the difficult situation that the world and audiovisual industry  are currently going through, we are working with passion and empathy in the selection of films, to be able to exhibit the best of Chilean and international cinema, as every year, in this new edition of the festival,” explains the Artistic Director of SANFIC, Carlos Núñez.

Regulations to participate are available at www.sanfic.com and www.festhome.com. Applications will be received from March 24 to May 11.

SANFIC´S 16th edition is co-financed by the Audiovisual fund / long standing festivals program of the Ministry of Cultures, Arts and Heritage.
