The film White on White by Theo Court had stand-out participation in the 76th edition of the Venice Film Festival, which concluded today. The film stars Alfredo Castro and took over the Orizzonti category, where Court was recognized with the “Lion” for Best Director.
That makes two awards for the film, which had been recognized prior with the FIPRESCI Award, granted by the International Federation of Film Critics.
White on White is an international co-production between Quijote Films (Chile), El Viaje Films (Spain), and Pomme Hurlante Films (France). It’s set in the early 20th Century in Tierra del Fuego, and had its international premiere on September 3rd in the Orizzonti section, a category dedicated to films that represent the latest aesthetic and expressive trends in international cinema.
