The delegation of more than 50 national producers who will attend Ventana Sur, includes 5 professionals who participate with the support of the Ministry of Cultures, Arts and Heritage (MINCAP) through its Support Program for Participation in International Markets, as part of the Council of the Arts and the Audiovisual Industry (CAIA).
Vanessa Miller (Hugo Miller Producciones), Christian García (Grieta Cine), Francisco Gallardo (EQUECO), Omar Zeballos (Voladores Films) and Francisco Greene (Cirugía Motion Arts) bring to the market fiction and animation series, auteur films and hybrid proposals in development stage, all taking part of Ventana Sur to look for new international partnerships for their development and financing.
Francisco Gallardo - EQUECO
EQUECO, led by Pablo Calisto and Tomás Alzamora, has a new executive producer: Francisco Gallardo. The production company of La mentirita blanca (Miami, 2017) is selected in CORTE FINAL with History and Geography by Bernardo Quesney, a dramatic comedy starring Amparo Noguera, Catalina Saavedra and Steevens Benjamin. Francisco will also be at the market with No importa, an LGBT+ series and choral comedy in development, in search of funding.
Vanessa Miller - Hugo Miller Producciones
The acclaimed actress arrives to the market with a new role: director and producer of projects, both of serial content and cinema. Two of her projects go through Chile’s recent history: Bravura plateada, Cecilia La Incomparable; a biopic series about the emblematic Cecilia Pantoja, a fundamental figure of Chilean music and icon of the feminist movement, and El pago de Chile, feature film about the Military Dictatorship, in script development stage and looking for financement.
Francisco Greene - Cirugía Motion Arts
Greene, producer and writer of series with historical and social content, such as Naufragios (2015) and Immigrants (2018), arrives to Ventana Sur with a new project, an animation series: e-Dem (10x24), which participates in a Working Session in the Animation! section. The science fiction project seeks to partner with producers and co-producers from Spain, Brazil and Mexico.
Christián “Picho” García - Grieta Cine
Christián García arrives at Ventana Sur after the successful tour of Aquí se escucha el silencio by Gabriela Pena, a hybrid documentary that tries to make sense of the family wounds of exile, winner of the Open City London 2020 development fund. At the market he presents Familia', a hybrid short film and 'desktop film' in vertical format, which looks to find programmers, sales agents or distributors interested in experimental animation.
Omar Zeballos - Voladores Films
In 2019, Omar Zeballos, along with his partner Sophie Chevalier, created Voladores Films with the intention of producing content that unites Latin America with Europe for an international audience. The project they bring to Ventana Sur confirms this objective: Kuntur, a spy series set in the 1970s, transports the heart of the Cold War to the Southern Cone. It is currently looking for Argentine and North American broadcasters.
