This week on "Tuesday of Chilean Series” we invite the whole family to enjoy the production Locos Lab, created by Isabel Rosemblatt and Carlos Ulisse from Dinogorila Creative Lab. This animated series mixes science and entertainment, while accompanied by original songs that vibrate details of everyday life.
The colorful 2D animation follows Nina, a 12-year-old girl, and the adventures that take place in her unusual family, filled with eccentric personalities who are led by her uncle Dr. C, a punk scientist accumulator of failed experiments-and compulsive waste picker who is accompanied by a talking cow, a caveman of the past, a biomechanical lizard and a crafty cat. Humans, animals, absurd situations and histrionic characters come together to traverse a journey through comedy and learning in each episode.
This series educates and illustrates about unusual phenomena of our world and universe, and each chapter was worked with a Chilean scientist, giving truthfulness to topics related to space travel, black holes, plant awareness, among others.
Locos Lab was produced with support from the National Television Council (CNTV), in co-production with Señal Colombia and VTR; in Chile it was released by TVN in March of this year. The series was conceived as an immersive transmedia composition and already has its own soundtrack. Eventually, this work will be accompanied by a video game for tablets and mobiles that is currently in production.
For the past 5 years, Dinogorila Creative Lab has been producing original content for children, focusing specifically on animation and video games. Through various formats they seek to fulfill their main goal: to promote scientific content for children. However, the ironic humor and scientific details of its contents make them transversal works that also appeal to adults.
Rosemblatt and Ulisse are currently developing the animated series Hola Flinko, which looks to promote knowledge of the animals of our continent and Latin American music.
