1939. Neruda gets the “Winnipeg”, a freighter ship that originally was conditioned for 100 people, to rescue and bring to Chile more than 2,000 refugees, victims of the Spanish Civil War. On board Rocío and Víctor remember the terribles previous weeks, in which they risked their lives crossing the Pyrenees and surviving the concentration camps in France. To resist the difficult journey, they must organize, ration food and even mutiny. After a month of traveling they arrive to Chile, a country that they practically do not know and that promises them a hopeful future.
