In Rapa Nui, the bellybutton of the world, the brothers Patu and Heru are seduced by the Varua, powerful spirits. Enchanted by them, they have two not entirely human children. The brothers must leave them behind to regain their lives. Years later and with families of their own, Patu and Heru face the return of their firstborn, and the rejection of their families.
