The world has changed, and so has CinemaChile. And today we’re happier than ever to share our new brand identity, a creative vision that utilizes the common experiences we’ve lived as a society in the past year, channeling them toward new collective imaginations, led by intuition, nature, and hope in a renewed beginning.
What inspires our new identity?
The process of creating the new Brand Manual that we’ll be using during the 2021-2022 period began with reflections about how technology has been used to confront the isolation caused by the pandemic.
The saturation of virtual hyperconnection has led us to seek refuge in unexpected places, where after months of lockdown, nature has stood out as a place of comfort, a constant anchor. The organic world, which lies beyond our computer and phone screens, inspires us, moves us, allows us to dream again, and to re encounter one another.
Landscapes, linear paths, and horizons are the figures that permeate our new visuality, while retro shades of orange, reds, and greens create a simple, serene palette, beckoning us to return to the origin to build meaning from there.
What do the colors in the CinemaChile image symbolize?
The colors in our new palette also symbolize the variety of films in our country: in terms of genres as well as styles. Fiction, documentary, short films, animation, and virtual reality: all of these formats that are vital to our industry have their own characteristic color.
Our graphics will be directly inspired by each place we visit in representation of the audiovisual industry, whether it’s Berlin (EFM), Cannes (Marché du Film), Pamplona (Conecta Fiction), or Buenos Aires (Ventana Sur), among many others, creating a panoramic view of Chilean cinema and series around the world.
We invite you to accompany us on this retro-futuristic journey, in which we’ll be launching different pieces throughout the year, including our 2021 International Film Catalogue, press kits for each market, bags, and notebooks, along with special graphics for the launch of Thursdays of Chilean Cinema and Tuesdays of Chilean Series 2021, the 5steps homages to our directors and talents, and our new activities and editorial sections.
We all hope to continue finding a refuge from the pain of the pandemic, and to begin to trace the coordinates to a new beginning.
