Canada-based animation studio Pipeline announced the acquisition of national animation studio Zumbastico, a company known for productions like Paper Port and Zumbastico Fantastico. Pipeline Studios focuses on the development, production, and distribution of content for children and families, founded by Colombian Luis López. Both companies had already worked together on the production of Paper Port.
According to declarations made to news source LatAm Cinema, Álvaro Ceppi, director of Zumbastico, commented, “It’s a very important step for our studio that allows us to collaborate with highly experienced creators and artists, and thus, along with Pipeline, bring our productions to more girls, boys, and families around the world.”
Meanwhile, national studio Punkrobot, along with Red Animation (Peru) and Hype (Brazil), made public the creation of Los Amigos, an animation collective whose objective, according to news source Prensario Internacional, is to produce CGI series in real-time between the companies and offer high-quality products quickly and at an accessible price.
