CINEMACHILE’S QUICK LOOK AT MIPCOM 2021: PRODUCERS AND PROJECTS YOU CAN’T MISS!

CINEMACHILE’S QUICK LOOK AT MIPCOM 2021: PRODUCERS AND PROJECTS YOU CAN’T MISS!

Check out the producers at MIPCOM seeking alliances to achieve the development and finalization of their projects, defining the future of fiction, documentary, and animation series content.

Rafael Valdeavellano (La Ventana)

He has vast experience in the documentary area, in both films and series. His projects, such as Chicago Boys (2015), Why in my Garden? (2011), and Another Short Story (2013), have circled the globe. He is currently developing the second season of Ancestral Secret by the director Jota Loyola Crovetto, which, at the new version of MIPCOM, is seeking co-production for more episodes, buyers, platforms, and international associates from the Americas, the U.S., Canada, Mexico, or Brazil.

Ximena Araya (Lunes CineTV)

The producer behind creations like Babalun and Waldo’s Dream (Annecy, 2018) arrives at MIPCOM with Raffi, an animated series that tells the story of a little girl and her dog, who together will attempt to be the best farmers in the universe. The series in development seeks co-producers or platforms, mainly with European associates.

Pablo Unda (La Machi)

With nearly 15 years of experience as a screenwriter and executive producer of fiction, he arrives at the market with Frikis del arte, a comedy seeking co-development or co-production with countries such as Spain, France, the United States, and England.

Matías Cardone (Invercine Producciones)

The producer of successful films like Bombal (2011) and Los Jaivas: All Together (2020) will be at MIPCOM promoting Matadero Franklin by Rodrigo Sepúlveda (My Tender Matador, Venice Days 2020), a gangster thriller taking place in the emblematic neighborhood of Franklin in Santiago. Produced by Invercine and Blackpanther Films, it is currently in search of financing and streaming platforms.

Ángela Poblete & Gunther Kaempfe (Fabula)

The production company with offices in Santiago, CDMX, and Los Angeles, and winner of the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film in 2018 for A Fantastic Woman (Sebastián Lelio), lands at MIPCOM with its new series Santa Maria, about the horrific murder at the Santa Maria ranch in Cuba. What seems to be a standard police case begins to implicate the Vatican and the Cuban government, and threatens to reveal a secret that, if the world were to find out about it, would destroy both empires. Currently in development and in search of financing.

María Elena Wood (María Wood Producciones)

María Elena Wood is an outstanding producer and director with more than 30 years of experience in the creation and production of television content. You can contact her to find out more information.
