The event, which commonly takes place in the city of the same name located on the Yucatan Peninsula (Mexico), brings together the global media and entertainment world, gathering the most influential buyers, producers, development executives, and distributors of the international TV industry and other platforms. The goal? To promote the exchange of ideas and networks, generate sales, pin down meetings and streamings, and turn opportunities into lasting business. Here, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/cinemachile.cl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/presskit-mipcancun-2020.pdf\">the participation of outstanding Chilean professionals<\/a><\/strong> has been boosted with support from the <strong>Ministry of Culture, the Arts and Heritage (MINCAP) and CinemaChileTV, a subsidiary brand of ProChile.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Thus, eleven Chilean production houses \u2014 and their respective representatives \u2014 will exhibit their most promising and most recent projects. Of this group, five producers are backed by <strong>the Support Program for Participation in International Markets <\/strong>from<strong> the Council of Art and the Audiovisual Industry (CAIA, in Spanish)<\/strong> belonging to <strong>MINCAP<\/strong>. They are <strong>Carola Fuentes<\/strong> of <strong>La Ventana Cine<\/strong>, <strong>Jorge Said<\/strong> of <strong>Millenium Monde<\/strong>, <strong>Sebasti\u00e1n Freund<\/strong> of <strong>Rizoma Films<\/strong>, <strong>Francisco Greene<\/strong> of <strong>Suroeste<\/strong>, and <strong>Jaime Herrera<\/strong> of <strong>The Magic Factory Productions<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/cinemachile.cl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/presskit-mipcancun-2020.pdf\"><strong>What will Chile be showing at MIPCancun 2020?<\/strong><\/a><\/h2>\n<p>Our country\u2019s audiovisual work hasn\u2019t stopped despite all the difficulties resulting from the pandemic, and production houses are currently elaborating interesting projects in search of resources for their development or finalization. At MIPCancun, some of this new series content will be exhibited.<\/p>\n<p>One is <strong><em>Ancestral Secret<\/em><\/strong> by Jos\u00e9 Manuel Loyola, a non-fiction series in development and in search of co-production, which Carola Fuentes will present at MIPCancun as part of her briefcase.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jorge Said<\/strong> will do the same with <strong><em>Las \u00faltimas tribus<\/em><\/strong> (\u201cThe Last Tribes\u201d), and the development of its third season, directed by Said himself, which requires co-producers. On his part, <strong>Freund<\/strong> will participate in MIPCancun with <strong>LOGIA: El secreto de la cuarta carabela<\/strong> by Alejandro Fern\u00e1ndez Almendras, a miniseries in development seeking exhibition platforms.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, <strong>Greene <\/strong>will seek agreements for the production entitled <strong><em>Frontera<\/em><\/strong>, directed by Oscar Godoy, a crime drama in development that requires financing. <strong>Herrera<\/strong> will promote <strong><em>La grande tata toro<\/em><\/strong> by Rub\u00e9n Miranda, an animation series currently in post-production and seeking sales agents.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>CinemaChile strengthens its presence at\u00a0 MIPCancun<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The relevance of the encounter and the big opportunities for independent projects drove CinemaChile\u2019s participation for the second time, in order to strengthen promotion for this year\u2019s series content, which has flourished in other markets, such as Conecta Fiction (Spain) and Mipcom (France), allowing for the conclusion of successful productions, as is the case of <strong><em>In\u00e9s of My Soul <\/em><\/strong>(a co-production between TVE, Boomerang Television, and Chilevisi\u00f3n, directed by Chile\u2019s Nicol\u00e1s Acu\u00f1a and Alejandro Bazzano) and of <strong><em>Dignity<\/em><\/strong> (a co-production between Invercine &amp; Wood, Amazon Prime Video, Mega, and Germany company Joyn).<\/p>\n<p>Likewise, CinemaChilleTV will be promoting its 2020 International TV Catalogue through a virtual stand.
