According to the festival, \u201cthe encounter seeks to highlight the stories of men and women of yesterday and today, that often have memory as a common theme, memory of events that have marked a people as well as familial roots or lost eras\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Chile\u2019s participation in the event is robust, with films in various categories. Forming part of the Official Selection is <strong><em>Sleeping Disorders<\/em><\/strong> (interview below) directed and produced by <strong>Paloma G\u00f3mez<\/strong> and <strong>Camilo Becerra<\/strong>, while in the Contemporary competition are four national films: <strong><em>Ra\u00fal Pellegrini<\/em><\/strong> by <strong>Michelle Ribaut<\/strong>, <strong><em>Las Cruces<\/em><\/strong> (interview below) by <strong>Teresa Arredondo<\/strong> and <strong>Carlos V\u00e1squez M\u00e9ndez<\/strong>, <strong><em>Zurita<\/em><\/strong> by <strong>Alejandra Carmona<\/strong>, produced by <strong>Eduardo Lobos Barera<\/strong>, and <strong><em>Hoy y no ma\u00f1ana<\/em><\/strong> by <strong>Josefina Morand\u00e9<\/strong>, produced by <strong>Consuelo Castillo<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"responsive-video-wrap clr\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/MPDa3nGfERQ?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, in the category Film and Literature, two films by famed national director <strong>Silvio Caiozzi<\/strong> will be exhibited: <strong><em>Cachimba<\/em><\/strong> (2004) and <strong><em>Coronation<\/em><\/strong> (2000). In addition, a retrospective of director <strong>\u00c1lvaro Covacevich <\/strong>will take place, where his films <strong><em>To Die A Little<\/em><\/strong> (1966), <strong><em>La revoluci\u00f3n de las flores<\/em><\/strong> (1968), <strong><em>Di\u00e1logo de Am\u00e9rica<\/em><\/strong> (1972), <strong><em>Chile, un gran desaf\u00edo<\/em><\/strong> (1973), and <strong><em>La epopeya de los Andes<\/em><\/strong> (1976) will be shown.<\/p>\n<p class=\"responsive-video-wrap clr\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/OqoIqphUEmA?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>It is worth mentioning that the artistic director of the Trieste Latin American Film Festival is Chilean Rodrigo D\u00edaz, who signed an alliance with the Lebu Film Festival (Arauco Province, Chile) this year that seeks to promote the distribution and visibility, and foster exchange between national and international directors, bolstering Lebu\u2019s festival as one of the events with the greatest international projection in our country.<\/p>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A few days ago, the 34th edition of the Trieste Film Festival began, an event held annually in the Italian city of the same name, which this year contemplates a selection of more than 100 films.
