This week we revisit one of the series that a few months ago we had the pleasure of programming on our Tuesdays of Chilean Series: Por la razón y la ciencia. This time, we delve into its third season and how digital technologies impact the lives of human beings, permeating our lives in many ways. From the way we relate, communicate and work, to the way we transmit our affections, the series reflects on the role and value of humankind in this new digital era.
Conducted by Jani Dueñas, in this new season the voices of experts will also be open to the social sciences and humanism, including in the scientific discussion perspectives that come from philosophy, cinema or anthropology, among others, generating a diverse and complex story about the relationship of humankind with its new environment.
Por la razón y la ciencia, aspires to democratize scientific outreach knowledge, addressing topics such as astronomy, super bacteria, oceans, genetics, and tidal energy, among other enriching topics. Composed of illustrative animations, interviews with academics and experts, and footage that captures the surprise of the universe we inhabit, each episode is an invitation to be amazed by the unknown.
Produced by Tres tercios and Fundación VTR, it was broadcasted by the national channel Chilevisión in 2018. The comedian Jani Dueñas guides audiences in a journey that transforms the everyday into extraordinary, and today we invite you to embark on two episodes of this season that was directed by Simón Vargas.
Tres Tercios, the production company behind Por la razón y la ciencia, has been located in Chile since 2011, with the mission of creating original content for various platforms of the audiovisual industry. Their works are full of innovation and creativity, always looking for the best way to tell the stories or generate an audiovisual experience different for the viewers. This is why it develops authorial projects where the director can explore and find his own voice, and is composed by Jeremy Hatcher, Simón Vargas, Pablo Arias and Allan Bortnic.
Among their most outstanding projects are the short films Apnea (San Sebastián Festival 2012), El bienestar de Julio (Sanfic 2012), Herman' (Best Lakino Short Film 2015), the medium-length film Las ruinas del oro with singer Camila Moreno, and the feature film Sobre los muertos, who won the Best Director Award at SANFIC 2018.
