Antarctica: A territory claimed by 7 countries, with 29 nations working for scientific purposes and 52 taking part on a forum. Let´s see the scientific work in Antarctica and how it is affected by diplomacy and political decisions taken by different governments collaborating in the continent, given the international interest about it, both in terms of natural resources and scientific research. In 1990 an agreement was signed to protect the Antarctic continent and prevent the exploitation of its resources. In 2035 this agreement will be reviewed. Shall we be able to protect and preserve Antarctica for peace and science research?
